Little Red-Cap
Translated by Margaret Hunt
Tale
Illustrations by Walter Crane
The tale about a little girl named Little Red-Cap. She went to visit her grandmother, who lived nearby in the forest. On the way, the girl meets a gray wolf. Without thinking Little Red-Cap tells where she goes, so the wolf conceived to do something evil.
The English version of this story, the well-known Little Red-Riding-Hood, is probably derived more immediately from the French, 'Le Petit Chaperon Rouge', as given by Perrault, where it ends with the death of the girl.
